Woodbridge Tide Mill Recognises Dedication Of Long-Standing Trustee

Woodbridge Tide Mill has honoured the service and commitment of John Smith. John was the leader of the maintenance and engineering team at the mill for many years. His skill and leadership abilities led to the mill becoming largely self-sufficient in the maintenance and engineering areas and, as the team were all volunteers, saved a lot of money.

John stepped down as a long-standing trustee of Woodbridge Tide Mill when the new incorporated charity took over the running of the mill. However, the trustees could not let John go without expressing their thanks and admiration for his work.

John Carrington, chairman of the Tide Mill Charitable Trust, explains: “We commissioned a glass bowl, inscribed to John. It was due to be presented at an evening team briefing for wardens and volunteers. That was cancelled because of the COVID-19 situation so I met John at the mill and presented the bowl to him in the open air.”

You can become a friend of Woodbridge Tide Mill for a small donation that will enable the vital upkeep of this iconic landmark in these uncertain times. For further information or to make a one-off donation visit: www.woodbridgetidemill.org.uk.
