U3A East Suffolk

In Touch Community News

East Suffolk u3a’s spring programme, which rolls out at four venues across the county, is full of topics to stimulate and interest. This thriving local members’ organisation welcomes new members, and that includes anyone retired or semi-retired and seeking something new and/or interesting. The proviso is that if you join, you must expect to contribute, either in leading or helping plan meetings or other activities. East Suffolk u3a has a strong local following and offers the chance to participate in more than 150 activity groups, including discussing the arts, history, science, learning a new foreign language, walking, quizzing, dining out, short breaks and more.

Local speaker meetings at U3A include:

Monday 20 March: 10.30am-12.30pm at Woodbridge Football Club, 17 Fynn Road, Woodbridge, IP12 4LS. Medical detection and medical alert assistance dogs: the work of both types of dog and the ways in which they save lives with non-invasive detection of human diseases. Presented by Norma Howell.

Monday 27 March: 2-4pm at Kesgrave Community Centre, Twelve Acre Approach, Bell Lane, Kesgrave, IP5 1JF. A history of printed cartoons: a look at how published cartoons have illustrated the events and infatuations, important and trivial, of the last three centuries, with illustrations from Hogarth to Mac. Presented by Martyn Roper.
