Two Charity Appeals That Will Make The World Of Difference

Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity currently has two major appeals. Both are based at Ipswich Hospital and both will lead to significant changes, all for the benefit of patients.

The Blossom Appeal
The Blossom Appeal is all about building a new breast care centre. When it is built, it will bring together all breast services at Ipswich Hospital under one roof for the very first time. Patients will no longer need to walk long distances around the hospital for different aspects of their care. This is going to revolutionise patient experience. They will be able to see their consultant, have a scan or talk to a specialist nurse in the same place, at the same appointment. This will not only save patients valuable time, but also help reduce anxiety and stress levels.

As you may well be aware, the entire breast care team at Ipswich Hospital already deliver an exemplary service. All they need now is the environment to match.

The Blossom Appeal has raised over £500,000 so far. The target is £1.75m so there is still a long way to go. Now is the time to get involved to ensure Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity meets their goal. Can you help?

The Children’s Appeal
As the name suggests, the second appeal will benefit children and young people. If you’ve ever been to Children’s Department at Ipswich Hospital you will know two things. One, the staff and the care they provide is outstanding (as proven by their ‘Outstanding’ CQC rating) and two, the layout, look and practicality of the department is simply no longer fit for purpose and needs a radical overhaul.

The Children’s Appeal is going to change that second point. By supporting Colchester & Ipswich Hospitals Charity appeal, you will ensure every young visitor is treated in a well-planned, welcoming and child-friendly environment for many years to come.

The project will see the existing 1980s footprint transformed into a light, airy space inside, along with a fantastic play area outside. There will be many improved facilities such as more en-suite rooms, larger bays on the wards allowing ample space for a parent to stay and a dedicated teenage area.

There is £250,000 left to raise for The Children’s Appeal. Let’s work together and make it happen. Visit

The great thing is, everyone can get involved. If you’re an individual, group, association, school, college or business, you can help.

The charity’s fundraising team is always on hand for ideas and advice. Whether you want to hold your own event, take part in an organised challenge or choose them as your charity of the year at work, they are there for you every step of the way.
