The Salvation Army Emergency Response Group based at Stowmarket supported the Emergency Services overnight at a recent thatch roof fire involving five houses at Hengrave. 2022 was a busy year for the group with 15 Callouts responding both to the Fire Service and Police Search teams. Overall the group Assisted 1,295 emergency workers, issued 2,060 hot/cold drinks, made 211 loaves of bread into sandwiches and spent over 200 ‘manhours’ at incidents.
