Ectopic Pregnancy Trust

Two men from East Suffolk are preparing for a fundraising challenge to support The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust. Dominic Adams and Richard Buck will be cycling 425 miles from Suffolk to Lands’ End in June 2024.

The Ectopic Pregnancy Trust supports women who have suffered an ectopic pregnancy and their families. Ectopic pregnancy, which is when the embryo grows outside the womb, affects one in eighty pregnancies and can be life-threatening. The baby can never be saved.

Dominic and Richard chose to support the charity after Dominic’s partner, Samantha Lewis, sadly suffered two ectopic pregnancies in 2022. “Each time, our joy at discovering we were expecting turned to despair” explained Dominic, “Samantha required life-saving surgery and both of her Fallopian tubes were removed, meaning we can no longer fall pregnant naturally.”

“It was heart-breaking” said Samantha, “But the support of The EPT team has been amazing. Any money we can raise to help them continue their support and awareness would be incredible.”

Talking of the event itself, Dominic said: “I’m nervous, but knowing I’m doing it for such a great cause will keep me going. I’m proud to be doing this for everyone affected by ectopic pregnancy.”
