Suffolk Libraries Lines Up More Author Talks

Suffolk Libraries has added more online discussions with top authors as part of its ongoing programme of live events.

Suffolk Libraries has been at the forefront of hosting top quality free online events with the Suffolk Libraries Day book festival in March featuring authors such as Bernard Cornwell, Anthony Horowitz and Kathy Reichs attracting an online audience of over 2,000 people. 

Events and activities are due to return to libraries soon but some online events will still continue throughout the year. You can book a place at the following upcoming online events via the Suffolk Libraries website where there are more details about each author. Events are free but there is an option to make a donation to support Suffolk Libraries. 

Wednesday 16 June at 6pm – lifestyle author Anniki Somerville. Author and podcast host of How to Be a Boss at Ageing, Anniki will be talking to us about her career and the release of her book by the same name which will be released on 31 May.

Tuesday 22 June at 1pm – MJ Arlidge. MJ Arlidge will be talking to us about his career so far and his latest DI Helen Grace thriller: Truth or Dare which will be published on 24 June.

Thursday 24 June at 1pm – Peter James. To celebrate the paperback release of his book I Follow You, bestselling author Peter James will be talking to us about his career so far and his latest title Left You Dead.

Sunday 27 June at 7pm – pre-recorded interview with Neil Gaiman. We’ll be sharing a special pre-recorded interview on our YouTube channel. Multi award-winning and New York Times bestselling author Neil Gaiman will be talking to us about The Graveyard Book which is one of our chosen DiscoveReads titles. There is no need to book for this event as you can just follow the broadcast on YouTube at

Wednesday 30 June at 11am – Kate Forster. Join us for a live author chat and Q&A with scriptwriter Kate Forster who will be talking to us about her career so far and her latest title Starting over at Acorn Cottage.

Tuesday 6 July at 11am – Ana Sampson. Poet Ana will be talking to us about her career so far and her latest anthology of poems Night Feeds and Morning Songs which is an anthology of poems around pregnancy, birth and motherhood.

Friday 23 July at 6pm – Gillian McAllister. Bestselling author Gillian McAllister will be talking to us about her new crime thriller That Night in a live Q&A. Gillian McAllister is the Sunday Times Top 10 bestselling author of Everything But The Truth, Anything You Do Say, No Further Questions, The Evidence Against You and How To Disappear.

Thursday 29 July at 6pm – Actor and comedian Mark Billingham. Actor-turned-novelist Mark Billingham will be talking to us about his career so far and his latest title Rabbit Hole.
