Jane Gosling, Former Manager at National Trust Lavenham Guild Hall will present, ‘Boom and Bust in Medieval Lavenham’. Lavenham is the legacy if a thriving cloth industry, whose merchants made it one of the wealthiest towns in Tudor England. The talk explores their rise to fame, the houses they left behind, and the following crash.
Our meeting on Wednesday 5April will take place at the same venue and same time. Robert Halliday presents an illustrated talk called, ‘Suffolk Calendar Customs’. All about the strange sometimes Quaint Ceremonies and Events that went on across Suffolk in years gone by – some continue to this day!
