Make the most of life once you’re no longer in full-time work and come and explore new ideas, interests, and skills. Across the country U3A members are learning, staying active, meeting new people, and having fun later in life. It’s local, social, friendly, low cost, and open to all. We have over 40 interest groups including walking; from strollers to 5+ milers, theatre, garden visits, art appreciation, curry club, science group, keep fit, pickleball …there’s something for everyone.

Monthly coffee mornings are held on the first Friday of the month 10am–12noon at the Lambe School, East Bergholt. Our monthly lectures are held on the second Wednesday at 2pm in Constable Hall, East Bergholt. Guests are welcome for a charge of £4. Lecture on 8 March by Christine Beedle entitled ‘Confessions of an Essex Scrubber’ tells her story of establishing a large cleaning business for which she was awarded an MBE. On 12 April, we have Mark Carroll talking on ‘DNA and Family History’ then on 10 May Paula Short will tell us about her travels in Vietnam.
