An update from the Plastic Free Manningtree team ahead of the Surfers Against Sewage Campaign:
We want to get as many people involved as possible to remove plastic litter from the community and play our part in Surfers Against Sewage’s campaign to clean up a million miles of the UK each year for the next 10 years.
There are two ways to take part:
- Go to our Facebook page and join the event remotely. All the information you need is there and you can easily log which area you have cleaned and how much litter you have collected using an online survey.
- Come to Manningtree Beach between 9am and noon on Saturday 15 May where we will supply you with equipment to litter pick safely. Please do bring your own gloves. If we have enough volunteers, we will also have meet-up points in Lawford and Mistley; watch out for the posters locally and on our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information. We will abide by all the current social distancing regulations and you can read our risk assessment and safety briefing on our Facebook page.
- Let’s #LoveWhereWeLive and continue to build our #PlasticFreeCommunity. For information about Plastic Free Manningtree, Mistley & Lawford visit our Facebook page @plasticfreemml or email: plasticfreemml@gmail.com
