‘Oak Trees, Sailing Boats, the Royal Navy and the Boatyards of the East Coast’

Come and hear how East Anglia’s woodlands gave rise to boatyards being established along the estuaries and coastline of the North Sea resulting in commissions from the Royal Navy and commercial patrons. The talk will be illustrated by paintings and various art forms which celebrate our Island’s fascination with our maritime history.

Do join us at our meeting on Wednesday 1 March at 2.15pm at Tower Hall, 5 Broadlands Way, Rushmere St Andrew IP4 5SU. The Hall is open from 1.30pm with tea and coffee available. Guests are welcome.
