We started October with Thurrock Invitational Karate Tournament where we took away 14 medals! A small team across multiple categories coming away 8th overall against clubs covering 50+ people/categories… but this is only beginning of the month! On 6 October, two members of Northgate competition team Lilly Melton and Lauren Berry went to Belgium where Lauren represented regional team kumite and won silver medal in kumite (fighting) and Lilly represented Northgate Karate Club and placed 9th. On the following weekend, 14 October, seven members of Team Northgate went to Luxemburg, Coupe De Kayl Karate Competition where we took away four medals: Codi Simpson silver in kumite, Alicja Zieba Bronze in kumite and kata and Jamie Parfitt silver in kata. For some members it was first competition abroad. Well done all.
