We have an update from the sailors at Neptune Sailing:
After a year off the water, Neptune resumed sailing after Easter. We are planning to build up our sailing and powerboat courses steadily, with youth groups and schools having smaller groups initially due to social distancing needs. We would like to thank those who have generously supported us over the last year. As we missed a complete season, we are now looking for new instructors, powerboat teams, committee members and supporters.
If you have been with Neptune previously as a senior instructor or helper or know anyone who would like to become involved on our committee or supporters’ group, please contact us via our website.
We will be running a RYA dinghy instructor course from 5-9 July. Up to 12 places are available, though some have already been reserved. Our regular course tutors, Jeremy Mills and Sue Head, are delivering this course once again. If you are thinking of becoming an RYA dinghy instructor, contact us and we will help with any explanations or preparation.
Neptune Youth group
Neptune youth groups offer regular sailing to all young sailors from 10 years old and runs during term-time evenings. Sessions are structured for beginners, improvers and advanced sailors. If you are interested, do let us know soon, with no obligation to join a group. No previous experience is required.
Summer Junior courses
We are hoping to run our extremely popular programme of summer courses during the summer holidays. We need to assess which courses will be possible with regard to Covid-19 restrictions, so we will add details to the website slightly later this year.
Onboard Sailing Sessions (junior sailing at weekends)
For those who would like to sail at weekends, or continue with Neptune after summer courses, we are hoping to offer Saturday Onboard Sessions once restrictions allow. Details on our website.
If you have been a Neptune member in the past, please think about re-joining us this season.
