The Chinwag elves were very busy on 6 December preparing for the Chinwag Christmas party at the Needham Market Community Centre, we welcomed 81 Chinwaggers which was a record attendance.
We were entertained by Chinwag favourites Alan and Gina who sang a medley of Christmas-themed songs for us to join in with and dance along to for those feeling energetic. We had a Christmas raffle, another Chinwag favourite, and raised £235.20 for our Chinwag funds. First prize of £50 was donated by Gipping Press, we had vouchers donated by Dan’s Coaches, a voucher for £25 donated by The Limes Hotel and Restaurant together with many other prizes.
Each of the Chinwaggers left with a branded Chinwag Christmas card together with a hopefully lucky scratch card! Thank you to Gudgeons-Prentice Solicitors for sponsoring the afternoon. The annual Christmas lunch was at The Swan in Needham Market on 19 December with 53 Chinwaggers in attendance, big thanks to Matt and the team for making us all so welcome.
We welcomed in the New Year at the January Chinwag and took a moment to remember Chinwaggers no longer with us. Local talent Chelsea Francis entertained us with her amazing voice bringing glitz and glamour to the afternoon.
The theme for our February Chinwag is Friendship and Fitness February and we have Ben joining us to demonstrate chair-based exercises and explain the importance of staying active for both mind and body. There will also be the usual book and jigsaw swap and we continue to support the Stowmarket Food Bank.
A warm welcome awaits our regular and any new Chinwaggers on the first Wednesday afternoon of each month at the Needham Market Community Centre between 2-4pm. We look forward to welcoming you to the Chinwag family.
