Nathan’s Organic Veg Box is the new way to get fresh produce delivered to your door, making sure you get the best and most organic produce possible.
During lockdown, owner Nathan saw how people were struggling to get their weekly shop and access to fresh produce. The realisation spurred Nathan into helping his neighbours and the local community in Manningtree and surrounding areas get access to amazing organic produce, all delivered weekly or fortnightly to your door.
Nathan, Lawford born, works for an independent organic grower based in Cambridge, who is a certified Soil Association Member, and has been involved with the London Farmers Markets for over nine years.
Nathan said: “It’s really great to meet our regular customers and hear their feedback on how much they have enjoyed our produce and how they utilise our fresh produce.”
Nathan’s Organic Veg Box specialise in quality produce grown as naturally as possible (no heated greenhouses or artificial lights and never any chemicals) using spring water sourced from their own bore holes.
You can select a wide range of leafy salad varieties, lumpy salad items, herbs and fruit, just to name a few.
The contents of the weekly box depend’s on what produce is at its optimum for hand picking that day and is then delivered direct to your door the very same day. Most of the produce can be eaten raw and will last for longer than people expect due to the freshness.
So, how does it work?
Well, first off you chose a box, there are plenty to chose from, then you chose your subscription (weekly or fortnightly) and then Nathan’s friendly team will deliver the box straight to your door with reusable and recyclable packaging. It’s really that simple.
Where many may have struggled during lockdown, Nathan’s business has actually adapted by actually aiding those who many be shielding with his contact-free delivery service.
Nathan said: “The current situation has actually helped to drive my business as people have been at home, shielding or struggled to get access to fresh produce so it really has been great to create an essential service during these strange and difficult times.”
Nathan runs the business himself, with the help of his two adorable 6-year old twins, but, as the company grows, he will start to look for more help with preparing boxes and for support with deliveries, in the local area.
Nathan explained: “With everybody being more conscious of the provenance of their food, having more time to experiment with their cooking and their own Health & Wellbeing, this has all created more interest in the Organic boxes. On top of all that, the flavours and variety will be something you just don’t get from the supermarkets. Governments and regulations come and go but quality and fresh produce will always be desired”
