As the first Friday in April is Good Friday… MHAS have two meetings in March!
The first meeting will be held on Friday 3 March from 7.30-10pm, where Richard Gibson will present, Thorpe Abbotts Airfield, the 100th Bomb Group -and the Munster Raid. Richard, involved with the 100th Bomb Group Museum since 1978, has amassed a huge amount of information and stories, about this south Norfolk airfield and the brave men based there.
On Friday 31 March, Mike Pugh Davis, with his illustrated talk, ‘Aircraft versus U-Boats’. Which is all about the epic struggle between the RAF and later also with the United States Army Air Force against German and Italian Aircraft – as the enemy tried to starve us into submission…. and very nearly succeeded!
Martlesham Heath Aviation Society meetings takes place at Martlesham Heath Community Centre,
Felixstowe Road, Martlesham Heath, Suffolk, IP12 4PB. Entry costs £3 for Society members, £4 for non-members, who are also welcomed. Pay on the door on arrival. No need to pre-book, just turn up early!
