Along with so many others during these strange times, we held our first ever online committee meeting recently which proved to be very successful. It was decided to postpone the AGM until such time that it can be held safely.

We are a small and friendly group of photography enthusiasts who meet up on the Essex/Suffolk border. The club aims to provide an enjoyable environment for members to enjoy the development of their photographic skills through a variety of activities in the company of like-minded individuals and would be pleased to see you at one of our evenings once it’s safe to resume our meetings.

In the absence of our usual meetings and competitions, the Facebook challenge continues to keep members motivated (recent subjects were Action and Close Up) which has produced some lovely images of flora and fauna in our gardens during the lockdown, such as this month’s featured image, Silver Wash Fritillary by Ian Parker.

We hope to be able to resume the next season in September. The new programme will be available on the website in due course. Meetings are held at 7.30pm on second, fourth and fifth Thursday of the month between September and May at the St Johns Ambulance Centre, Station Road, Manningtree CO11 1EB.

New members are welcome to join us or may attend initially as visitors. For details please contact our secretary, Viv Scurrell: 01206 393751 / madps@post.com.
