Sunday Crafts: 10am–12noon – during December we will be making the following crafts:
Sunday 3 – This week we are designing Christmas bookmarks. Who will you give yours too?
Sunday 10 – Create a Christmas stocking or tree decoration to brighten up your home.
Sunday 17 – We are making a Christmas turkey picture this week.
Sunday 24 – CLOSED – CHRISTMAS EVE
Sunday 31 – Tomorrow is New Year’s Day. Design a card to say welcome to 2024!
Activities are free. Parents must stay with under eights.

Word Play Sessions – Every Thursday Morning. These free sessions are run by trained staff. There is not a session on Thursday, 28 December.
Tot Rock – 9.45–10.15am – active songs and rhymes for pre-school children.
Baby Bounce – 10.45–11.15am – Gentle songs for you and your baby to enjoy.

Story Time: Fridays 9.45–10.15am. Fun stories, rhymes, and songs – this is a free activity. We hope to see you soon. There is not a session on Friday, 29 December.

Lego Club: every Tuesday 3.30–4.30pm. Free play with each child been given a basket of Lego bricks to create designs of their choice. We hope to see you soon.

Morning Book Group: Tuesday 10am, 5 December at the library. The group are discussing Where the Crawdads Sing by Celia Owens.
Afternoon Book Club: This group’s next meeting is Thursday, 7 December at 2.45pm where they will be discussing American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins.
Evening Book Group: Thursday, 21 December, 7–8pm. The group are currently reading The Carer by Deborah Moggach.
If you are interested in joining, please contact library staff. The library supplies copies of the titles being read.

Knit and Natter: From 2.30pm. This month there is only one session on Thursday, 14 December. You don’t need to be able to knit to attend – just pop along for a natter. Tea/coffee and biscuits are provided. Donations towards the cost would be welcomed.

Cancer Information Session: 10–12noon on the third Monday morning each month (Monday, 18 December) in the library. Our volunteer who helps run these sessions, is available to help on any aspect that may be worrying you, whether you are currently suffering from cancer or a carer in need of advice or just if you fancy a cup of tea/coffee and a listening ear.

Menopause and Me Support Group: Thursday, 7 December 7pm. This peer led support group will be run by staff and Jen Evans, who is a menopause advisor. All sessions will comply with both NHS and NICE guidelines; and are for anyone who is affected by the menopause and its symptoms. During this month’s session, the group are looking at and discussing medically induced menopause – how and why? These sessions will offer practical advice, as well as be a chance to talk to others and get support. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided.

Stay and Play: Every Tuesday 10–11am. Bring your little ones to our Stay and Play group for a relaxed and informal opportunity to meet other parents and carers, share experiences and chat.
Our Stay and Play groups are a chance for parents to socialise and give their babies and young children a fun, interactive play session that engages their senses and helps their development. These sessions are suitable for under 5s. This event is part of our Me Myself and Baby perinatal support service. The aim of the project is to help reduce isolation and improve emotional wellbeing for new parents.

Christmas Cards: Our fantastic selection has arrived and is on display within the library. We also have cards from the Somersham Ward from Ipswich Hospital available as well. Every sale helps to support your library service.

Scout Post Box: The library has a Scout’s post box from Saturday, 25 November to Monday, 11 December. The cost for each card is 35p this year. Please place your cards and the money together in a bag.

Recycle Your Ink Cartridges: Did you know that Kesgrave Library is a drop off point for printer ink cartridges, whether used or out of date (apart from laser printer cartridges). Every donation of a used cartridge helps the library to raise funds.

Home Library Service: If you would like to access the library but are unable to visit us, Kesgrave runs three home library routes, where volunteers come out with a selection of books to your homes. To access this service, whether you are house bound, recovering from an operation, enquiring for a relative/friend or someone you care for, please ring the library: 01473 626103 or log onto the Suffolk Libraries website and complete the online form.

Scrabble Club: We are thinking of starting a Scrabble Club on a Monday morning in the new year. If you are interested, please could you give us a ring on: 01473 626103, so we can add your name to the list.
