As part of a competition run by Colbea and sponsored by Fenwick Colchester, five businesswomen have been given the opportunity to trade on the shop floor of Fenwick. We have already seen betty & molly and Suzi M with their fantastic pop-up shops, and FoldedSide Project, Twinkledust, and the London Sleep Company will be in store this October until Christmas.

Colbea’s innovative training programme, In the Market for Success (IM4S) was funded by NatWest and has seen more than 200 female businesswomen graduate and get their businesses off the ground. A competition in collaboration with Fenwick Colchester has continually supported these women and small businesses, which is a celebration of entrepreneurship.

In-store from 4 October – Emma Fisher’s business, FoldedSide Project creates hand-folded unique paper lampshades, lights, and decorations to enhance your contemporary home or space. Taking inspiration from geometric forms and natural materials.

I’m so thrilled and over the moon to be working with Fenwick. It is so great to have such a prestigious retailer on our doorstep and the chance to offer my locally produced handmade lighting and decorations is very exciting

In-store from 11 October – Sisters Sarah Gant and Emma Kelly run Twinkledust. They create and design super soft children’s cotton clothing that is made well and has a quality that will last. With printing and manufacturing all their products in the UK, Twinkledust also supports other British businesses.

It means the world to us to be able to be in a store with the same ethics as us and we cannot wait!

Instore from 21 October – Amy Paris from The London Sleep Company: a one-stop-shop featuring beautiful products such as their bath and shower elixir formulated with deep, restorative sleep in mind. Further planned releases will build on the pre-sleep routine.

This is a huge, money-can’t-buy opportunity for us, and we are absolutely over the moon. We can’t wait to start working with Fenwick!

Suzi M Pop-Up Shop

All three of these local female-run businesses will be selling their bespoke, handmade and beautiful products in Fenwick. Perfect Christmas presents and stocking fillers. Why not pop in to see them and support local female entrepreneurs!

Nancy Foster, Store Director of Fenwick Colchester says: “Fenwick are incredibly proud to continue our support of businesswomen in the local community and provide a platform to showcase their products to a wider audience within our store”

Ashleigh Seymour-Rutherford, Colbea Chief Executive: “Colbea are committed to supporting all businesses, but it is collaborations and opportunities such as these which can really help launch people and their products and services. These are definitely ones to watch for the future!”
