Family @ Church

Sadly, with increased Covid-19 infection rates after Christmas, we did not feel it was safe to meet together in church for the January family@church. Instead, we emailed a service to all our families to enjoy at home.

In January, we remembered the visit of the wise men to the baby Jesus and learned four important things: that God is in all our lives but we need to pay Him attention; that God is not the destination but how we live our lives is a journey of faith; that following Jesus is not without cost, we need to be generous with our time and energy; and, finally, we can expect to be surprised as Jesus ‘appears’ in all sorts of unexpected places.

The two carols chosen were We Three Kings and In the Bleak Midwinter. In our prayers, we remembered with sadness the passing of Carrie who had played such a significant part in the establishment of both the toddler group and family@church and was so supportive to Liz and I. We gave thanks for her life and our happy memories of her and that she is now at peace.

Families had also been asked to donate items for the local foodbank as part of a reserve Advent Calendar. They were encouraged to take their donations directly themselves as it is not known when next we can worship together.

The next service is scheduled for February 7th, but we will have to see how the virus progresses and when it is safe to be together again. We will keep you posted. In the meantime, it is important to take care, stay safe and have Hope.

If you need a chat at any time, please don’t hesitate to call us.
