Thank you and update from Families In Need

Thank you so much to everyone in our villages who supported FIND’s Christmas Appeal by donating countless boxes of biscuits, chocolates and £720 worth of Gift Tokens to accompany the 500+ Christmas Hampers we delivered to those in need. Thank you also to the Carol Singers and  those who were dining at the Moon and Mushroom who raised £223 from a bucket collection for FIND on two evenings before Christmas.

Now we continue with the daily distribution of food supplies to people whose names have been referred to us by Social  Services and caring organisations locally. It is now the time of year when we receive more requests for these, well as furniture and other household goods, for help with utility bills or support for Rough Sleepers for example. So without the community’s support  for our work  we would be unable to respond.

Work has also begun on building a facility to store furniture and other household goods on a site adjoining Find’s Food Bank site. This should be finished by the end of February, making it easier to combine our activities on the one site.

All we need now is to enlist the help  of more people to collect and deliver furniture which has been donated or to help with the distribution of the food supplies, as increasing age or holidays sometimes leave us short of volunteers. If you would like to know more about these ways to help please contact Maureen Reynel on 01473 833 351 and leave a message. She will be delighted to hear from you!
