Activities at the DYC do not cease just because the sailing season is over. The winter months are a time for renovation and renewal thanks to the stalwart efforts of the working party. The new year is also an opportunity to review and refresh.
Our Club Captain, Robin Parsons, has put together an exciting programme of water-based events for 2024 including beginners and improvers training courses, a women’s sail training day, a flotilla for tenders and paddle boards, a mini weekend regatta as well as the usual dinghy racing.
We hope that there will be something for everyone and now is a good time to join the club to gain advantage of a full year’s subscription.
As club members, we enjoy everything the beautiful river Deben has to offer and are increasingly aware of the need also to care for the river. As part of our programme of winter talks, we have invited Prof Peter Hobbs to speak about the river ecosystem and sustainability and regenerative practices on Thursday, 15 February.
