• Where? It’s based at our inspiring Community Garden on Maidenhall Allotments, Halifax Road, Ipswich IP2 8RE.
  • What? It’s designed to build practical skills and knowledge about gardening, growing and nature conservation in a friendly, welcoming community of volunteers. Learners can get involved in beekeeping, carpentry and other areas too.
  • When does it start? The first 8-week course starts Monday 17 January or Friday 21  January 2022. Learners opt to attend on Monday OR Friday. Places are limited and activities will take place in small groups.
  • Benefits? We help people take first steps towards building up their confidence and developing other skills such as good communication, ability to work in a team, showing initiative and taking responsibility.
  • Next steps? We enable people to find their strengths and develop their abilities so they feel empowered to move on into further learning, training or employment.
  • Good news? It’s entirely FREE – funded by the European Social Fund administered by LIFT ‘Local Investment in Learning Paths to Work’ Community Grants Programme. To take part, you just have to be resident of Suffolk, eligible to work in UK, and not in employment.
  • Please get in touch if you or the person you support is interested in joining. We are holding an informal open day on Monday 10 January 11am to 2pm so you can look around, meet the team and ask any questions. Covid-19 health and safety measures are in place throughout our sites.
